The press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine reported that on Telegram.
The head of the Ukrainian state expressed his gratitude personally to Joseph Biden, Congress, and the American people for the military assistance provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
"I want to thank you for being with us all these days, side by side. We greatly appreciate it," he emphasized.
Zelensky informed Biden about the course of hostilities on the front-line, and operational and strategic plans of Ukraine.
In addition, it is noted that internal processes in the Russian Federation were discussed in view of recent events.
It is reported that the presidents paid considerable attention to further long-term defense cooperation.
The head of the Ukrainian state noted the huge support from the USA, which already reached 43 billion dollars.
"But the USA spends this money to save the lives of Ukrainians, and we also protect a significant part of Europe and the whole world," Zelensky emphasized.
The President of Ukraine noted the holding of the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council and the approval by the countries of the "Group of Seven" of the Joint Declaration on support for Ukraine.
"I know that other states are eager to support the G7 decision. And this will help tremendously because these are very specific things to guarantee the security that you are doing for us," said the Ukrainian head of state.
In his turn, Biden noted that the President of Ukraine and the Ukrainian delegation could feel the great support from all partner states.
"You have already done a lot of work, and I know you still have much to do. I look forward to the day when we will have a meeting, and we will celebrate official membership in NATO," said the US President.
At the same time, Biden noted the extraordinary bravery and courage of the Ukrainian people, who have resisted large-scale Russian aggression for more than 500 days.
He assured that the United States would do everything to quickly help Ukraine with everything necessary, as long as it is needed.
For reference:
The two-day NATO summit started in Vilnius on July 11. In the final communiqué of the summit, published on the Alliance website, the Heads of State and Government of the North Atlantic Alliance recognized Ukraine's progress on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration. They confirmed that Ukraine's future lies with NATO.
NATO Heads of State and Government agreed to drop the requirement for a Membership Action Plan for Ukraine. They said they would extend an invitation to Ukraine to join the Alliance after "fulfillment of conditions."
The final document of the NATO summit in Vilnius will not contain an invitation to Ukraine for membership negotiations. Still, it will provide for the possibility of such an invitation when the allies agree to it and when the conditions allow.
The summit decision does not include a list of conditions to be fulfilled by Ukraine, but a mechanism for their assessment is defined. The Annual National Program (ANP) will be a tool for monitoring the reforms implemented by Ukraine. This tool is already at the disposal of Ukraine.
