Russian forces hit aid center and residential areas in Kherson, injuring five

The Russian military shelled Kherson again, hitting the humanitarian headquarters and residential areas.

The number of casualties caused by the attack on residential areas of Kherson has increased to five people, head of the military administration Oleksandr Prokudin reports.

The shelling injured an eight-year-old child. A woman has been killed in an attack with Grad multiple rocket launchers in the village of Sofiivka.

The Russians have attacked a humanitarian aid headquarters in Kherson. The very building in the Suvorovskyi district where residents were receiving aid was damaged. Fortunately, no civilians were harmed, he noted. 

Among the injured is an eight-year-old boy who has received moderate injuries. At the time of the Russian strike, he was in the courtyard of a house. A 68-year-old man was seriously injured. His head, neck, chest, arms, and legs were injured by debris.

Earlier, Prokudin had warned that the occupiers could attack the railway station in Kherson and urged residents not to go outside unnecessarily.

A humanitarian aid center and at least five multi-story residential buildings are known to have been hit. Fires have broken out in the places that were struck. Rescue and medical workers are at the scene.

This is not the first time Russia has shelled humanitarian headquarters in Ukraine, knowing that there may be people there. On July 10, the invaders dropped two guided aerial bombs on Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region, targeting the humanitarian aid center. Seven people were killed, and 13 were injured.
