US developer to build new housing for Ukrainians displaced by war

The American company Wasatch Group, in partnership with the To Ukraine With Love charity organization, plans to build 600 fully furnished modular houses for people whose homes were destroyed due to the war in Ukraine's northern Kyiv region.

American businessman, philanthropist, founder, and executive director of Wasatch Group, Dell Loy Hansen, announced this, Rubryka reports.

What is the problem?

The Russian invaders destroyed and damaged about 26,000 buildings in the Kyiv region, of which almost 5,000 private houses and about 170 high-rise buildings were completely destroyed.

For people whose homes were destroyed by Russia's war, the American company Wasatch Group, in partnership with the To Ukraine With Love charity organization, plans to build 600 fully furnished modular houses in the Kyiv region in 2023-2024.

How does it work?

The project of the multi-apartment residential complex called "Mistechko Hansen" will create a large community for the elderly, war veterans, widows, orphans, and people with disabilities. The project will provide medical and emotional care centers, physiotherapy, art therapy, and other necessary services.

"This town will be able to replace several family-type orphanages destroyed during the war. We know that more than 100 such institutions were destroyed," said Dell Loy Hansen.

He also spoke about the initiative to build residential buildings for homeless, older people in several regions of Ukraine. Their residents will be serviced for free in the dental clinic, hairdressing and manicure services, hot food center, and cinema.

Earlier, Rubryka reported that they want to turn the abandoned polyclinic in Slavutych, Kyiv region, into a business residence and housing for IDPs.

It was also reported that Bucha, Kyiv region, intends to create a psychological rehabilitation center for people with PTSD.
