South Korea sends Ukraine non-lethal military equipment
Ahead of the NATO summit, South Korea dispatched a military transport aircraft to send additional non-lethal military supplies to Ukraine, Yonhap reports.
The South Korean authorities have sent a plane to Europe with humanitarian aid and non-lethal military equipment for Ukraine.
We have decided to send additional military supplies based on Ukraine's requests. In this regard, we have sent a military transport aircraft to transport the relevant materials, said one of the officials of the South Korean defense ministry.
The content of the new military aid package has not been disclosed, but it is noted that the country's authorities have taken steps to provide it after the South Korean President left for Lithuania on Monday to attend the NATO summit.
South Korea has sent various forms of non-lethal aid to Ukraine in its war against Russia's invasion but rejected Kyiv's requests for lethal weapons so far.
The state has promised to provide $230 million in aid to Ukraine.
Earlier, authorities said that Seoul could expand its support for Ukraine beyond humanitarian and economic aid in the event of a "large-scale attack by Russia on the civilian population."
