Zelensky and Bulgaria's PM sign declaration on Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine

On July 6, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Nikolai Denkov signed the Declaration on Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.

The signing took place during their joint press conference in Sofia, the President's Office reported on Telegram.

At the meeting, Ukraine and Bulgaria's Ministries of Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning collaboration. The heads of both departments put their signatures on the document.

"Within the official visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the Republic of Bulgaria in the presence of the Head of State of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Nikolai Denkov, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministries of Energy of Ukraine and the Republic of Bulgaria on cooperation in the field of energy," the message reads.

As Rubryka wrote, on Thursday, July 6, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived on an official visit to the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia.

The parties should discuss the following:

  • defense support,
  • Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine,
  • NATO summit,
  • security guarantees,
  • implementation of the peace formula.

For reference:

On July 4, the Bulgarian mass media reported on the possible visit of the President of Ukraine to Bulgaria. The new state government invited him.

The following day, Zelensky's visit was confirmed by Bulgarian Defense Minister Todor Tagarev, who apologized for letting the info get out to the press.

It should be noted that usually, the visits of the President of Ukraine to other countries are not reported due to possible threats.

The program of the President of Ukraine includes a meeting with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Nikolai Denkov and Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel.

At the end, a meeting with the head of state Rumen Radev is planned.
