Solutions to win: Sumy developing regional air target detection system

Air defense forces and means are being reinforced in the Sumy region, and a modern Regional Air Target Detection System is nearing completion.

The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, announced this.

What is the problem?

The Sumy region experienced constant enemy shelling during the war, beginning in April of the preceding year upon the retraction of Russian forces.

Artiukh has reported an increase in the frequency of hostile usage of Shahed– and Geran-2-type Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

It should be noted that only on July 3, Russian troops used Shahed drones for strikes on Sumy. Four hits were recorded in the city center.

As a result of an enemy drone attack on the regional center of Sumy on July 3, three people were killed, and 21 residents received injuries of various degrees of severity.

What is the solution?

It has been determined that the air target detection system will be deployed exclusively in the Sumy region to detect airborne offensive weapons promptly.

How does it work?

"Despite active hostilities taking place in other regions of Ukraine, the military leadership found an opportunity to strengthen the air defense system in the Sumy region. And one of the terrorists who attacked the city of Sumy was shot down by our military," Artiukh emphasized.

The system will increase efficiency and improve the use of air defense firepower by Ukraine's armed forces.

"I thank the district military administrations, communities, and entrepreneurs who provided a certain financial resource so that we, together with our military, could deploy such a system," the head of the Sumy regional Military Administration emphasized.
