Ukrainian forces make significant gains on southern Berdiansk and Melitopol fronts – deputy defense minister
With heavy fighting, the Ukrainian forces are gradually advancing on the Berdiansk and Melitopol fronts.
Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar reports this on Telegram.
The south. We are advancing with heavy fighting, but gradually on the Berdiansk and Melitopol fronts. Our troops are facing intense enemy resistance, remote mining, and the redeployment of reserves, but they are persistently and tirelessly creating conditions for the fastest possible advance, she reported.
Maliar noted that heavy fighting continues everywhere on the front line.
As of eastern Ukraine, Russian troops are advancing in the Avdiivka, Marinka, and Lyman directions.
It is tough everywhere, added the Deputy Defense Minister.
The Russian army has also started advancing in the Svatove direction. Fierce fighting is taking place there as the aggressor is attacking Bilohorivka and Serebrianka Forestry.
The situation is quite complicated, Maliar added.
As for the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian forces are advancing and have partially succeeded on the southern flank.
Fighting continues on the northern flank of Bakhmut, with Russians deploying two air assault regiments there.
What's going on all over the frontline?
The Russian army continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, and Marinka directions, as heavy fighting continues there. On July 1, there were 46 combat clashes between Ukrainian forces and the occupiers.
According to the General Staff, over the past day, July 1, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 800 invaders.
US military experts believe that military operations around Bakhmut in the Donetsk region could result in either the withdrawal of the invaders from southern Ukraine or a risk for the Russian command in the Kherson and Luhansk regions.
According to Natalia Humeniuk, a spokesperson for the South military command, heavy fighting continues on the left bank of the Dnipro River, near Kherson, between the Ukrainian military and units of the Russian occupation army.
Among all the frontline areas, the Avdiivka direction is the most intense fighting scene.
