AFU advancing on the southern front offers Russian forces chance to retreat
Ukraine's armed forces continue to pressure the Russian army in the temporarily captured territories of southern Ukraine. Therefore, the occupying army may soon make another "gesture of goodwill."
The head of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Nataliia Humeniuk, announced this on the air of the nationwide telethon "Yedyni Novyny."
"Each such "gesture of goodwill', which the Russians have demonstrated repeatedly during the full-scale war, took place under the powerful pressure of the Defense Forces. In particular, in the south. We continue the strong pressure, so we should expect 'gestures of goodwill.' If we don't wait, we will catch up," said the spokeswoman.
This is how she commented on the anniversary of the liberation of Zmiiny Island, which the invaders called a "gesture of goodwill" on their part.
Humeniuk also commented on the successful strike by Ukraine's armed forces on the Russian headquarters and fuel and lubricant warehouse in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk.
"Worked out accurately, skillfully. And all this is work within the framework of the counteroffensive that everyone expects and which will finally be seen in person. You can see that the enemy is losing its capabilities even in the rear; this is the preparation to make the enemy's actions inactive," Humeniuk said.
The spokeswoman stressed the importance of dismantling the enemy's supply chain so they wouldn't be able to replenish their forces, and the Russian army's rear bases should also be targeted.
"When this happens in the rear, you can imagine what is happening at the front," Humeniuk added.
For reference:
It should be noted that over the past month, Ukrainian defenders have intensified offensive actions on the Melitopol, Berdiansk, and Bakhmut fronts. Ukraine's armed forces liberated eight settlements in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.
Also, recently, a video showed how our soldiers raised the Ukrainian flag on the Kurdiumivska dam near Bakhmut.
In addition, near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region, Ukraine's armed forces liberated several positions under the control of the occupiers since 2014.
On June 26, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine took control of the village of Rivnopil of the Velykonovoselivka district in the Donetsk region.
During the counteroffensive of Ukraine's armed forces, more territory was returned than was captured by Russia during the winter offensive. British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said about it.
On June 30, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar said on the national news telethon that they are working on positioning the front lines in the south of Ukraine, which will be secured at the right limits.
