Russian rocket attack on Kramatorsk: number of killed rises to eight people, including three children

Russian rocket attack on a cafe in Ukraine's eastern city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, killed eight people. Debris analysis is ongoing, and citizens may remain under the rubble.

The State Emergency Service reports that as of 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, the rescuers unblocked the bodies of eight dead people from under the rubble of the destroyed cafe building.

Among them are three children: born in 2008 and 2011. The number of victims is 56 (including one child born in 2022). The emergency workers also said that they saved three people.

The agency clarified that all specialized services are involved in the work: rescuers, psychologists, police paramedics, explosives technicians, investigators, and forensics.

Rescuers continue sorting through the rubble of the destroyed building and searching for people who are probably under the ruins.

To recap, on the evening of June 27, the Russian invaders struck Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region with S-300 missiles. One of them hit a restaurant.

A fire broke out at the site of a Russian missile strike in Kramatorsk. Its area was 30 square meters. Employees of the State Emergency Service extinguished the flames, and search, and rescue operations were underway at the scene. Late in the evening, four were reportedly killed (among them, an infant), and 47 people were injured (among them was also a child).

Today, the number of victims and wounded has increased. Besides Kramatorsk, Russian forces struck the nearby village of Bilenke, where five locals who were at home in the evening were injured.
