EU sends 500 generators to Ukraine to combat consequences of Kakhovka Dam destruction

The European Union sent Ukraine 500 generators from its reserves to overcome the consequences of the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka HPP.

The European Commission reported that on its official website.

As part of the assistance provided to Ukraine through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the European Union is transferring 500 generators from strategic reserve warehouses located in Poland.

Generators have different capacities – from 12.5 kVA to 1100 kVA. Their total value reaches 16 million euros.

"The generators will be used to restore the functioning of critical infrastructure, such as pumping stations and sewage treatment plants in the affected areas in the south of Ukraine," the message reads.

For reference:

Since the beginning of the rescue operation, relevant specialists have already discovered and destroyed 62 mines in Kherson.

On June 6, the Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, located a few kilometers from the temporarily occupied city of Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region.

Ukrhydroenergo stated that the Kakhovka HPP is completely destroyed and cannot be restored.
