Russia launches rocket attack at Kremenchuk on anniversary of Amstor mall strike

On June 27, residents in the city of Kremenchuk in Ukraine's central Poltava region heard the sounds of explosions during an air raid.

Locals reported on social media the sounds in Kremenchuk, Poltava region, around noon on June 27. In turn, the head of the region noted that Russian invaders attacked the Poltava region.

"Just like a year ago on this day, Kh-22 missiles hit a cottage cooperative in the Kremenchuk area. So far, there have been no victims," he said. "No hits to critical infrastructure facilities were recorded."

The air alert was announced due to the launch of cruise missiles from Tu-22m3 aircraft. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the departure of two Tu-22m3 aircraft from the Shaikovka airfield in the Kaluga region of Russia.

"These are Kh-22 missile carriers. Two missiles were recorded. Their speed is more than 4,000 km per hour. Explosions were heard in Kremenchuk. We are waiting for official information," Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat commented on the air of the telethon.

"A year ago, the same rocket struck Kremenchuk. A year later, the same rocket is going again toward Kremenchuk," Ihnat noted.

As Rubryka wrote, on June 27, 2022, the Russians struck Kremenchuk with two missiles, hitting the Amstor shopping center.

At the time of the attack, more than a thousand people were in the center, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said. A fire broke out there. The shopping center burned to the ground.

Later it became known that 21 people died and 77 were injured due to the impact. The company's buildings were also damaged.

As Rubryka reported, shelling was recorded in nine regions of Ukraine over the past day, June 26. At least three civilians were killed, and Russian troops injured eight civilians.
