Ukrainian armed forces regain control of village of Rivnopil in Donetsk region
Ukraine's Defense forces liberated the village of Rivnopil in the eastern Donetsk region, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced.
"Defense Forces returned Rivnopil under our control. Moving forward," she said on the Telegram messaging app.
Rivnopil and its surroundings are located between two territories in Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in June.
According to Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar, at the end of last week, Ukrainian troops began counteroffensive operations in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, Yahidne, Klishchiivka, and Kurdiumivka. In each direction, the Ukrainian army advanced 1 to 2 km.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have so far eliminated about 225,580 Russian soldiers, according to General Staff. At the same time, the Russian occupiers are withdrawing all types of troops into the operational zone of the Eastern Grouping.
During the two weeks of the offensive operation on the Berdiansk and Melitopol fronts, the Tavria Special Operations Command units liberated eight settlements. They advanced up to 7 km deep into the Russian positions.
On June 24, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar stated that the Defense Forces launched an offensive in several directions in the east and advanced everywhere. Heavy fighting continues in the south. The Russian occupiers are trying to stop the actions of the Ukrainian defenders.
The Defense Forces also completely cleared the bridgehead on the western bank of the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal from the Russian troops. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also confirmed the liberation of the territories under Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region, occupied by Russia in 2014.
