Zelensky and Trudeau discuss battlefield situation and Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant threat in phone call

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the situation on the battlefield and the threat posed by the Russian occupying forces at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

The head of state announced this on Telegram.

"I held the first of a series of important phone conversations with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Thank you for your recent visit to Kyiv, and thanks to Canada and all Canadians for your constant support of Ukraine," Zelensky wrote.

He noted that he told Trudeau about the current situation on the battlefield and shared Ukrainian assessments of the attempted mutiny in Russia and the impact of this situation on the course of hostilities.

The president also drew the Prime Minister's attention to the threatening situation created by the occupying forces at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Zelensky emphasized that the world's insufficient reaction to Russia's blowing up of the Kakhovka HPP and the attempt to blow up the dam at the Kryvyi Rih reservoir allowed the occupiers to prepare a terrorist attack with a radiation leak at the ZNPP.

According to him, Ukraine's partners should demonstrate a principled reaction, particularly at the Vilnius NATO summit.
