Russian forces prepare for new missile attacks, conducting reconnaissance on south – Ukraine's army spokesperson

Natalia Humeniuk, the joint press center chief at the Ukrainian army's South Operational Command

The Russian invaders are actively conducting reconnaissance on Ukraine's south which is likely to indicate preparations for new massive missile or drone attacks.

Nataliya Gumeniuk, the spokesperson for the southern command of the Ukrainian army, made the relevant statement.

The enemy is conducting reconnaisance activities. Obviously, they are collecting data for more attacks, which the enemy is likely to do. There is a new batch of Shahed drones, and there is a missile potential, she emphasized.

Gumeniuk stressed that Russian aggressors often launch drone and missile attacks when they are not successful at the front and present these as "victories" in their propaganda messages.

Currently, there are 6 ships on combat duty in the Black Sea, including one submarine missile carrier. This is a difficult job for air defense, but not impossible. Four Kalibr cruise missiles are ready for use, she added.

The spokeswoman explained that other enemy missile carriers were brought to their basing points, in part because of the weather, as a storm is expected.

Since the end of April this year, the occupation forces have been attacking Ukraine almost daily with kamikaze drones and missiles of various types.

The invaders have begun to use Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and ballistic weapons more often.

On June 24, the invaders fired more than 50 missiles at Ukraine, and the air defense forces shot down 41 of them.

Ukrainian air defense shot down more than 20 Russian missiles in the sky around Kyiv: the debris of an enemy air target hit a 25-story building in the central Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, killing five people.

Also, on the night of June 22, the Russian army attacked Ukraine once again. The enemy used kamikaze drones and rockets.

Vadym Skibitsky, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, said that Russia had increased production of Kalibr and X-101 missiles by 3-4 times.
