Ukrainian forces retake positions in Donetsk region held by Russian troops since 2014

Ukrainian forces eliminated 104 Russian troops, wounded 202, and captured two in the Tavriia direction over the past day, June 23.
Missile and artillery units of the Tavriia direction carried out over 1,230 firing missions over the past day, according to the spokesperson of the Tavriia Force Group Valerii Shershen
"Our troops and strike units continue to conduct offensive actions in the designated areas. We are making progress, consolidating our positions, clearing mines, and achieving tangible results, but we are not going to talk about the results yet," he said.
"The tactics of the Russian occupation forces' actions here have not changed. They are focused on preventing our further advancement," the spokesman noted.
Shershen emphasized that near the town of Krasnohorivka, the assault units regained several positions held by the enemy since 2014 with a well-planned counterattack.
Previously, a video with Ukrainian equipment on the east of Krasnohorivka was posted. The area where the Ukrainian soldiers were spotted was in the so-called "gray zone" even before the full-scale war.

As for the Zaporizhzhia direction, the spokesman said that the enemy is concentrating on defense, focusing its main efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian forces. Russian troops tried to regain lost positions near Makarivka and launched air strikes on Novodanylivka, Orikhove, and Stepnohirsk.
The military noted the enemy is no longer moving from Kherson to Zaporizhzhia.
"The enemy has already moved everything it could from the left-bank Kherson region, having reinforced its positions by using rotation. We do not observe any active movement from the flooded areas," said the spokesman.
The day before, in the Tavriia sector, Russian troops lost more than three companies killed and wounded, and 51 pieces of military equipment were destroyed.
