Ukraine's armed forces make progress on multiple fronts in eastern offensive – Ministry of Defense
On Saturday, June 24, Ukrainian soldiers from the Eastern Group of Forces launched an offensive on several fronts, gaining progress everywhere.
Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced this on Telegram.
Maliar refers to the frontlines near:
- Orikhovo-Vasylivka,
- Bakhmut,
- Bohdanivka,
- Yahidne,
- Klishchiivka,
- Kurdiumivka.
The Russian occupiers unsuccessfully tried to advance on the Kupiansk, Lyman, and Mariinka fronts.
The forces of the terrorist country launched airstrikes and conducted artillery shelling in the areas of Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk.
Hostilities are occurring in the south of Ukraine in every theatre of the Ukrainian army's offensive, with the aggressors being on the defensive and striving to counter the efforts of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
Maliar emphasized that the enemy will suffer losses in personnel, weapons, and equipment.
According to the evening summary of the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces as for June 24, the main efforts of the Russian occupiers were concentrated on the Lyman, Avdiivka, and Mariinka fronts, where more than ten combat clashes took place. The Russians unsuccessfully attacked on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, and Mariinka fronts.
Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group of troops, announced the day before that the Defense Forces have "tangible successes" on the Tavria front.
Hanna Maliar previously said that the main events of the counteroffensive of Ukraine's armed forces are still ahead, and part of the reserves of the Ukrainian army will be involved later.
On June 23, the Ministry of Defense reported that defenders of Ukraine continued their active offensive. The defense forces have already managed to stop the enemy on the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts, and there are successful advances in the south.
During the two weeks of the offensive operation on the Berdiansk and Melitopol fronts, the Tavria Special Operations Command units liberated eight settlements.
The following settlements were successfully de-occupied in the Zaporizhzhia region:
- Lobkove,
- Levadne,
- Novodarivka
In the Donetsk region, Ukrainian soldiers liberated the following villages:
And on June 19, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported that Ukraine's armed forces had liberated Piatykhatky in Zaporizhzhia.
The units on the Tavria front advanced up to 7 km deep into the enemy's positions. The area of liberation in the southern region is at least 113 square kilometers.
