“Yellow Ribbon” resistance movement starting flash mobs in occupied cities to declare “Donetsk and Luhansk are Ukraine”

The Yellow Ribbon civil resistance movement leaves pro-Ukrainian messages all over occupied towns.

The non-violent movement takes up a fight and notes that Donetsk and Luhansk are Ukraine. 

For nine years, the occupiers have been claiming that there is no pro-Ukrainian resistance in Donetsk and Luhansk. But we are there, there are more of us, we are getting stronger every day, the movement's statement says.

They add that the Yellow Ribbon movement continues to resist Russian occupation.

The "Yellow Ribbon" resistance movement also called on citizens living in the occupied territories to massively block and ignore the fake election polling stations.

What is known about the Yellow Ribbon movement?

The "Yellow Ribbon" is a civil resistance movement established in April 2022 after the Russian full-scale invasion. The movement's goal is to provide informational resistance to the Russian occupiers.

It emerged in April 2022 in the territories occupied by Russia. On April 25, the movement's coordinators called on residents to hang Ukrainian flags and yellow ribbons on the streets and in public places. On the same day, they appeared in the then-occupied Kherson.

On March 27, Yellow Ribbon held a peaceful rally in Kherson, declaring, "Kherson is Ukraine." About 500 people took to the streets, and four of them were injured.

The same day in Kakhovka, Kherson region, people also once again took part in a peaceful protest against the Russian invaders.

Subsequently, yellow ribbons began to appear in Oleshky, Melitopol, Nova Kakhovka, Berdiansk, Yalta, Simferopol, Kerch, Saky, Donetsk, Luhansk, Henichesk, Alushta, and other cities and villages of the occupied territories.
