Explosion near occupied Henichesk destroys 2,500 tons of Russian ammunition
The Russian invaders suffered heavy losses after a powerful strike on ammunition depots in occupied Rykove, Henichesk district, in Ukraine's southern Kherson region.
The Spy's Dossier reports on its Telegram channel that the Russian aggressors lost 2,500 tons of ammunition, 60 wagons, and 450 Ural military trucks.
"On the eve of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, the Russian command introduced the strict restriction on the use of ammunition in most military units of the Russian armed forces," the source says. "To play it safe twice and have a sufficient number of ammunition when the counteroffensive begins, the higher command decided to concentrate shells in logistics warehouses. Allegedly, only a limited circle of people knew about it: to comply with security measures, there was a strict restriction on civilians' access. As a result, this played a bad joke in the case of Rykove."
As Rubryka reported, on June 18, powerful explosions rang out in the village of Rykove in the Kherson region. It was assumed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine used two British Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
As a result of the hit and the subsequent detonation of ammunition, more than 90% of the property in the warehouse at that time was destroyed.
"If we speak in numerical terms, the losses are estimated at approximately 2,500 tons of ammunition, or 60 wagons, or 450 Ural trucks," the message emphasized. The source adds that this is one of the biggest losses of the Russians during the entire war.
"The nomenclature of what was destroyed is standard. The most powerful projectiles for tanks, cannons, howitzers, rocket artillery, mines, etc. Standard, except for one item: the Kornet ATGM. According to the list of lost property, the attack on Rykove destroyed 170 Kornet systems and ammo to them", the message said.
During the past day, June 20, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated more than 500 invaders. Since the beginning of the Russian aggression, the Russian occupiers have lost about 222,000 soldiers.
Also, fighters destroyed 96 units of equipment and weapons of the Russian Armed Forces during the day. In particular, they neutralized 35 air targets.
As reported by the military command, during the day, the Ukrainian air force struck nine strikes on areas where Russian troops were concentrated and three strikes on its anti-aircraft missile systems.
On the night of June 21, Russian invaders attacked Khmelnytskyi with kamikaze drones: the Air Force destroyed all six drones.
