The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, arrived on June 19 on a working trip to Israel. She met with the presidential couple Isaac and Michal Herzog. Then, together with Michal Herzog, they visited one of the largest children's hospitals in the country, Safra Children's Hospital, located near Tel Aviv.

The first lady announced this on Telegram.

Olena Zelenska visited Israel. She said that she would have a very busy trip. First of all, she met with the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, and his wife, Michal Herzog.

"The trip will be busy because, since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have been cooperating with the first lady of Israel on several projects in the field of mental health. I am grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to strengthen our cooperation," Zelenska wrote.

After the official meeting, the two first ladies visited one of Israel's largest children's hospitals, Safra Children's Hospital, which works at the world-famous Israeli Sheba clinic near Tel Aviv.

"Today, thanks to my colleague, the First Lady of Israel, Michal Herzog, I saw how children with psychological problems are helped at Safra Children's Hospital – a children's hospital at the world-famous Israeli Sheba Clinic. Here, they provide specialized assistance to entire families in all difficult situations," she said in Olena Zelenska on her social networks.

She noted that many Ukrainian children would need psychological help because of life in war conditions. She pointed out that the All-Ukrainian mental health program is focused, in particular, on children — so that their wartime fears and pain do not affect their future lives.

"Ukrainian specialists have been studying the best aid tactics for a year with the help of Israeli medical workers because, in Israel, children also know what air raids are, what it's like to run to the shelter and learn in a bomb shelter. But thanks to high-quality psychological support, they also know how to survive trauma, overcome fear and live on," she said, adding that she visited a children's hospital to see how the integrated Israeli approach to helping children with psychological injuries works and to apply it at home, in Ukraine.
