IREX introduces Baza app in Ukraine, offering psychological support for veterans
The international organization IREX launched Baza, an app for psychological support for veterans and civilians in Ukraine.
The app developers reported on the launch on Facebook.
What is the problem?
With the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression, tens of thousands of Ukrainians were drafted into the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Many of these people became witnesses and even victims of all possible war crimes known to humankind. Not everyone can cope with the awareness of this new reality and not break down psychologically. Now thousands of veterans suffering from mental issues like PTSD need qualified help.
What is the solution?
"We strive to facilitate your process of returning to civilian life," the developers say to veterans in the announcement. "No empty promises. At hand. Online. Try it and also recommend it to your brothers and sisters, as one of the veterans who participated in testing our app plans to do. Now Baza is in your pocket."
How does it work?
The IREX international organization developed the app where veterans can find materials about mental health and self-help exercises, and valuable contacts for veterans.
Baza users can contact a psychotherapist and get a professional response via the app. At the same time, the user can remain anonymous.
The app also includes information about anxiety, the effects of mild traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, poor sleep, depression, obsessive thoughts, and tools to deal with it.
The Baza app has a mood tracker where you can record your thoughts and states and set reminders.
The application can already be downloaded on Google Play and App Store.
