Two civilians were killed, 25 injured by Russian shelling of Kherson yesterday

On June 16, two people were killed, and another 25 were injured in various degrees of severity due to the shelling of the Kherson region.

Russian forces shelled the settlements 75 times, local authorities report.

They launched 314 projectiles from artillery, mortar, Grad rocket launchers, and UAVs.

The enemy forces targeted Kherson itself by shelling it with 44 projectiles. They hit educational and administrative buildings and a local shop.

The shelling killed two civilians and injured 25. Among them are children.

The Russian military attacked the residential quarters of the populated areas in Kherson. The number of people injured after an enemy shelling in the city has increased rapidly.

Ukraine's President's office stated the enemy forces hit three districts of Kherson, which recently had suffered from the Kakhovka dam explosion.

"All the victims were hospitalized. Three people are in serious condition. All others have medium or light injuries. The shelter saved the lives of many people," it said.

Earlier, the Kherson regional prosecutor's office reported: "According to the investigation, on June 16, around 1:00 p.m., the Russian military began massively shelling residential areas of the city of Kherson."

On June 15, in the Kherson region, the occupiers shelled the village of Zelenivka with mortars. As a result, a local resident died, and another one was injured.
