Ukraine drafts law to make English official language of international communication
The government is preparing a draft law that will establish English as the language of international communication and working out solutions that will make learning English more accessible to everyone who wants to.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that on Telegram.
"Ukraine is open to the world. In parallel with the integration of Ukraine into the EU, we are strengthening cooperation with the international community. At the same time, the need for people with knowledge of the English language is growing. Its study should become more accessible to Ukrainians," the message reads.
Shmyhal noted that he held a meeting on this issue with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Culture.
"We are preparing a draft law that, in particular, will establish English as the language of international communication. At the same time, we are working on solutions that will make learning English more accessible to everyone who wants to do that," the Prime Minister emphasized.
He added that a large-scale project to restore Ukraine would begin after the victory.
"We expect the arrival of a number of foreign companies and investors who will develop their businesses here and create jobs. English opens up wide access to knowledge, the labor market, informational and cultural products, and higher wages. Ukrainians should also receive these advantages, which will help the approval of Ukraine as a regional leader," Shmyhal noted.
