Canada to send thousands of rifles to Ukraine – Ministry of Defense
In the coming days, Canada will complete the delivery to Ukraine of thousands of rifles and a million rounds of ammunition, the allocation of which was announced in April.
The Ministry of Defense of Canada announced this, reports Ukrinform.
"In the coming days, previously announced Canadian aid will be delivered to Ukraine, namely 6,750 assault rifles, 1.1 million 7.62 mm cartridges, 250,000 5.56 mm cartridges, and 70,000 sniper cartridges," the statement reads.
It is noted that Canada "will continue to work with allies and partners to provide Ukraine with the military assistance it needs for self-defense."
As reported, the new package of Canadian military aid included 21,000 small arms and 2.4 million rounds of ammunition. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the aid during Ukrainian PM Denys Shmyhal's visit to Toronto last month.
