Kakhovka dam destruction: Ukrainian soldiers rescued five Russian invaders drowning at their positions

Soldiers of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine rescued five Russian invaders who were drowning after Russia's blowing up Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) led to flooding in Ukraine's southern Kherson region. 

The press service of Special Operations Forces reported that now the prisoners will replenish the exchange fund of Ukraine.

"Having blown up the Kakhovka HPP, the Russian command did not consider the lives of its own personnel in any way. After the water spilled, dozens of occupiers remained cut off from large land in flooded positions in the Kherson region," " the report says. "One of these positions was submerged underwater, and several Russians were about to drown."

The Special Operations said that after receiving information about the possibility of capturing the Russian soldiers, the Ukrainian soldiers set out to get them.

Five Russian fighters were loaded onto boats. The Russian forces attacked the boats from other positions at this time, even though their military personnel were also on them.

All the prisoners were brought alive to the coast. Special operations soldiers were not injured during the mission.
