Belgium announces sending armored vehicles with 15th military assistance package for Ukraine
On Friday, the Council of Ministers of Belgium approved the 15th package of military assistance for Ukraine.
Belgian defense minister Ludivine Dedonder makes this statement.
Belgium will purchase and hand over armored vehicles as soon as the defense industry companies bring them to proper condition.
The vehicles in question are tracked armored vehicles of the M113 type, which were withdrawn from service by the Belgian army ten years ago.
Supporting Ukraine is not a competition between allies, but the result of a coordinated approach, the goal of which is to respond to needs as best as possible. This new package fully fits into this logic, Dedonder said.
The number of armored vehicles is not specified.
Last week, Belgium announced its intention to transfer to Ukraine 32.4 million euros worth of 105-millimeter artillery projectiles.
In mid-May, Belgium undertook to transfer to Ukraine almost 100 million euros from the income from the frozen assets of Russia.
In March, Belgium pledged to send over 240 military trucks to Ukraine, and in January, the country's authorities sent 92 million euros worth of weapons and ammunition to the Armed Forces.
