Russia plans to hold pseudo-elections in the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Propagandist media reported that the Russian central election commission appointed them by September 10.

The aggressor country decided to hold pseudo-elections in the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" and "Luhansk Public Republic," as well as captured parts of Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia and southern Kherson regions.

"On June 14, the Russian central election commission held consultations with the Ministry of Defense and the FSB and received from them a position on the possibility of voting in four new entities under the current conditions," said Ella Pamfilova, head of the commission.

Russia will hold elections on September 10. Elections of top officials in 20 subjects of the aggressor country are planned on the "single voting day," as well as other elections of State Duma deputies for four vacant seats in single-mandate constituencies.

Back in February, the Russian Federation Council announced plans to hold elections in the captured territories of Ukraine.

British intelligence noted that the Russian Federation wants to show the occupied territories as its "integral parts" by intending to hold a vote on the same day as the elections in Russia.

At the end of May, Russia made amendments to the law, which, in particular, allows elections to be held in the occupied territories.

Last year Vladimir Putin decided to introduce "martial law" in the occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions of Ukraine. Later, he signed "the law that excludes the ban on holding elections in subjects of the Russian Federation in which martial law has been imposed."

Ukraine has already reacted to the plans to hold pseudo-elections in the captured territories. Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk warned citizens against participating in them.
