Kyiv may buy 200-250 modular concrete shelters – city mayor
In the coming days, the capital will decide on the number of modular ground shelters needed for the city and their installation locations.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko reported this on Telegram.
Within 3-5 days, the Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv City State Administration, together with the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv and the heads of district administrations of the capital, must decide on the number of modular ground shelters needed for the city and their installation locations, the head of the city reports.
This decision was made on June 13 at a meeting of the permanent commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies.
According to Klychko, it is currently about purchasing and installing 200-250 modular concrete shelters. The city will allocate UAH 300 million for this.
Heads of districts should also provide information on the need to install such modules on the territories of schools and kindergartens where there are no underground shelters.
