Explosion in Melitopol disrupts Russian occupiers’ fuel transport to front – city mayor

On the evening of June 12, an explosion occurred on a locomotive situated in a locomotive depot in the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, located in an area currently under temporary occupation by Russian forces. The locomotive was reportedly being utilized at the time to transport fuel for purposes of the Russian military.

The Mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, stated this.

"According to the updated information, today's night explosion destroyed an enemy diesel locomotive in the locomotive depot. The Russians use equipment to transport fuel to the front. But every time, there are fewer opportunities [for such transportation – ed.]," Fedorov said.

The mayor of Melitopol reminded that this is the second diesel locomotive in the last two months that " was broken down prematurely."

On April 22, Fedorov reported that a diesel locomotive filled with fuel exploded in the depot area "under the noses of armed guards."

On June 12, the mayor noted that something had exploded in Melitopol for the second night in a row.

According to him, on the night from Saturday to Sunday at 1 a.m., during the curfew, the enemy military police opened fire on the soldiers from Ossetia – one Ossetian was killed, and another was wounded.

And at midnight on Monday, Fedorov reported, "something loudly exploded in the west of the city: residents of Yurivka and Novy Melitopol heard it."

Volodymyr Rohov, a collaborator of the Russian invaders in the Zaporizhia region, also reported on the explosions in occupied Tokmak and Melitopol on Telegram.

According to the collaborator, the explosions occurred in Tokmak around 10:30 p.m. on June 11 and in Melitopol at 12:02 a.m. on June 12.

Rohov claims tha multiple rocket launchers fired upon Tokmakrs.

According to preliminary reports, the air defense forces were reportedly active in Melitopol, as confirmed by the collaborator.

In the last few months, there have been frequent explosions in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. For example, on June 3, six loud blasts rang out in temporarily captured Melitopol.
