Repair Together aims to create international camp for restoring Chernihiv region
On June 10–11, the volunteer organization Repair Together will host the inaugural Summer Season Rave Party at the Yahidne Culture House in the Chernihiv region. The team had previously visited the village during its events last year.
DTF Magazine reports this.
What is the problem?
In the first days of the occupation, the invaders occupied part of the Chernihiv region, particularly the village of Yahidne.
The Russian troops evicted the nearby villagers from their homes and implemented an occupied headquarters in the school building. On March 30, 2022, the Russians held a total of 368 residents within the school's basement, which measured a mere 90 square meters, comprising both children and pensioners.
As a result of the actions of Russian war criminals, many people were killed, and peasants died in inhumane conditions.
Yahidne was also severely damaged by shelling during the occupation.
What is the solution?
The Repair Together organization cleaned up the destroyed club in Yahidne, Chernihiv region.

The team intends to facilitate an international camp from July to September, utilizing cleanup to draw in a new audience.
How does it work?
During the two-day cleanup, volunteers will clear debris and dismantle brick walls. Repair Together specified that these bricks would be used to build houses for families affected by the actions of the Russian military.

"We received a positive expert opinion on the feasibility of reusing such bricks, so it should turn out to be a good recycling case that will reduce the costs of building materials," explained the team.

For reference:
Repair Together, a volunteer initiative to restore de-occupied Ukrainian villages and towns was launched in May 2022.
The team gained wide publicity thanks to such events, during which volunteers cleaned houses, schools, and palaces of culture destroyed by the Russian military.
Several major Western media covered the initiative, including The New York Times, Dazed, the Washington Post, and the BBC.
It should be noted that in Ukraine, a World Bank–sponsored project for modernizing healthcare facilities was rolled out across all regions.
