Canada will send over $36 mln to help flooded regions of Ukraine

Canada will send Canadian $47.5 million (over $36 million) to help residents of Ukrainian regions flooded because of Russia's destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant and dam.

The office of the Prime Minister of Canada announced this, Ukrinform reports.

"The destruction of the dam in Nova Kakhovka once again demonstrates the incredible price civilians are paying for the Russian invasion. Canada is providing an additional $10 million for the immediate response to this disaster and is redirecting $37.5 million of the money previously allocated to Ukraine to support organizations that help residents of the flooded regions," says the widespread press release.

Canada is also "determined to provide additional resources for post-flood reconstruction," it said.
