On the night of June 9, Russian troops launched up to 16 kamikaze drones and six air-launched cruise missiles over Ukraine. The Air Force managed to destroy ten attack drones and four cruise missiles. One person died, and three were injured due to falling debris in the town of Zviahel in Ukraine's northwestern Zhytomyr region.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the head of the Zhytomyr regional military administration, Vitalii Bunechko, reported this.

From 22:00 to 04:00, the Russian invaders launched Shahed-136/131 and Lancet attack drones and Kh-101/Kh-55 air-based cruise missiles over Ukraine, hitting military facilities and critical infrastructure facilities.

The Ukrainian military destroyed targets in the areas of responsibility of the East, West, and South air commands. In addition to the attack drones, the Air Defense Forces shot down four Orlan-10 and Supercam reconnaissance drones at night.

Bunechko said that, according to preliminary data, the anti-aircraft defense shot down one missile over the Zhytomyr region during the attack. Due to falling debris, one residential building was destroyed, and 12 were damaged in Zviahel.

The Russian forces carried out another attack on the evening of June 8, around 8:00 p.m. Then they hit one of the civilian objects in the Uman district in the Cherkasy region with two Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea. As a result, at least seven people were injured.
