Protesters rally outside UN office in Kyiv, demanding action
On Thursday, June 8, a protest is taking place in Ukraine's capital under the building of the UN representative office. More than a hundred people came out with posters "Russia is a terrorist state," "Get Russia out of the UN," and "Stop the genocide."
RBC-Ukraine reports that the participants of the action also chant the word Useless.
On the morning of June 6, when the world had already found out that Russia had blown up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) and its dam, and the flooding disaster unfolded in the Kherson region, the official Twitter of the UN sent a greeting with the day of the Russian language. Later, the organization did react to Russia's blowing up of the Kakhovka HPP, but without mentioning Russia.
President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross for their inaction after the disaster at the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant.
He also called on international organizations to join the Kherson region's rescue operation.
