Kakhovka dam destruction: 2,334 civilians have been rescued from flooded Kherson region

As of 18:00, 2,334 people have already been evacuated from the flooding zone in Kherson and the Kherson region.

1,765 people were evacuated from the Korabel micro-district of Kherson, 210 from the Korabelny district, 27 and 10 from another two.

Local authorities add the evacuation is ongoing. Currently, it is difficult to reach the occupied left bank of the Kherson region, as Russian forces block the evacuation and shell the nearby towns.

As Rubryka reported, on the night of June 6, Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, located a few kilometers from the temporarily occupied city of Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region.

Three people have already died due to flooding in the temporarily occupied Oleshky.

A person also died in the Mykolaiv region due to flooding after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.

Rubryka's reporter noted that the Russians were shooting at people trying to evacuate in the flooded left-bank Kherson region.

Meanwhile, in Mykolaiv and the region, the water level exceeded the historical maximum. In particular, due to the disaster, the Kinburn Spit was cut off from the mainland.
