Ukrainian-made “Bohun” all-terrain vehicle used in evacuation of flooded Kherson region

One of the pieces of equipment used in the rescue of the flooded Kherson region was the "Bohun" all-terrain vehicle that can move freely through water and mud.

The operation to save people has involved 1,700 workers, 300 pieces of equipment and 33 water vessels.

What is the problem?

On the night of June 6, Russian troops blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam. Part of Kherson and its nearby 80 settlements were flooded.

Due to the explosion, dozens of settlements in the Kherson region were flooded. As for Kherson itself, there are 1,802 houses underwater.

What is the solution?

"On the video, what you see is a Ukrainian invention. An all-terrain vehicle, "Bohun". It was recently tested, and today it is already performing extremely important tasks of evacuating people," local authorities report.

How does it work?

Some 1,752 people had been evacuated from Ukrainian-controlled flooded areas of the Kherson region by 3 p.m., including 103 children.

On June 7, Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, visited the Kherson region. He spoke about the government's plans to restore vital areas of the region, including water supply.

Thanks to joint efforts, an operational delivery of water has already been organized. Ukrainian Railways has allocated tankers and special transport to guarantee the successful operation.

The centralized water supply will be restored. Appropriate decisions have already been made, and funds allocated.
