Iranian drones contain spare parts from Ukraine's partner nations – National Security and Defense Council's secretary

Spare parts originating from Ukraine's partner nations were discovered in Shahed kamikaze drones of Iranian manufacture, which the Russian military has utilized to make strikes on Ukrainian territories.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksii Danilov announced this on the telethon "Edyny Novyny."

"We disassembled them (drones – ed.) and, unfortunately, found parts there that are not produced either in Iran or Russia," emphasized the head of the NSDC.

Danilov suggested that the spare parts could have been procured before the start of a full-scale invasion since the drones were mainly produced in 2019-2021.

At the same time, the secretary of the NSDC noted that it is necessary to understand how Western spare parts get to the Russian Federation, despite the sanctions.

It should be noted that according to the NYT, aviation parts produced by the American company Boeing and the French Airbus went to Russian companies despite the sanctions.

The data records more than 5,000 separate deliveries of aviation parts to Russia during eight months of 2022: from simple propellers to an aircraft engine starter from the US defense company Honeywell worth $290,000.

A total of $14.4 million worth of US-made aircraft parts were sent to Russia eight months ago, of which $8.9 million are Boeing-branded parts sold to Russia through third parties. Last year, parts of aircraft originating from the EU were also supplied to Russia, particularly with Airbus markings.

Recently, Oleksii Danilov called the biggest attack by Shahed droned conducted by Russia a demonstration of stupidity and stubbornness.

"At 5:30 a.m., I looked at the morning operational report and shook my head in surprise.

Russians continue to demonstrate their two main "virtues" — stupidity and stubbornness in their various variations," he noted.

For reference:

It should be noted that only on the night of May 28 the occupying forces inflicted a massive strike with unmanned aerial vehicles on the capital: as a result, two fires broke out from the wreckage of downed air defense drones, there was destruction, and one civilian was killed.

In the capital, the air alert lasted more than 5 hours. The anti-aircraft defense was working hard; the residents of Kyiv were kept awake by constant explosions for several hours.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that on the night of May 28, according to preliminary data, more than 40 enemy drones were destroyed.

Then, in total, Russian troops launched 59 Shahed attack drones over Ukraine; 58 of them were destroyed by the Defense Forces.
