Ukrainian forces strike occupied Berdiansk port, Russian ships flee
On the afternoon of June 2, an explosion occurred in occupied Berdiansk; Russians claimed a strike on the local port.
Local authorities confirmed that Ukrainian defenders had attacked Russian positions, and according to preliminary data, ships that had recently entered the port to steal Ukrainian grain and metal were fleeing the port.
It's loud in temporarily occupied Berdiansk. The explosions were heard all over the suburbs, the mayor said.
Anonymous Telegram channels report a missile attack. Rogov claims that the strike occurred on the port territory. According to him, there is no destruction or casualties.
Nine Russian troops were injured in the shelling.
Berdiansk is deep in Russian-controlled territory, around 100 kilometers (about 62 miles) from the front line. That means that if Ukraine were behind the alleged strike, the use of Storm Shadow missiles would be a likely option.
