In Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, beauty professionals have come together to support the selfless soldiers who defend their country against Russian aggression.

Southern Operational Territorial Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine said the hairdressers recognized that these brave men and women live without basic amenities, including access to bathing facilities, Rubryka reports.

What is the problem?

Many Ukrainian soldiers face harsh conditions as they protect their country from Russia's aggression. They do not always have access to the basic amenities they need, including bathing facilities.

What is the solution?

Beauty professionals have found a way to help the soldiers by setting up a mobile hair salon for them. A barbershop is a mobile unit that travels to different areas to provide haircuts and make soldiers feel more comfortable, even in difficult circumstances.

"We're glad that we had such cooperation, and the most important thing is that it turned out to be useful for the military," the hairdressers said.

How does it work?

The mobile salon is a simple setup consisting of a table and a carrying case filled with all of the tools necessary to provide haircuts. The hairdressers go to different places to provide haircuts to the soldiers who defend the country.

One soldier, known as Thunder, used the service and appreciated the positive impact of a fresh haircut on his confidence. "I can say that the hairstyle greatly affects my mood. I feel confident in everything, and then it's not scary to go into battle," the soldier stressed.

Another fighter with a call sign, Historian, was happy to finally get his favorite haircut, the half-box haircut, along with a trimmed beard. He said that looking one hundred percent is important because soldiers serve as role models for others.

This small gesture from the beauty professionals brought a sense of comfort and self-care to the soldiers who needed it most. The barbers said they would continue to hold such charity initiatives and promised that they would definitely revisit the defenders.

As Rubryka reported, the British NGO handed over a bus, which was converted into a mobile hospital for the Ukrainian military.
