President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte the aviation coalition and the strengthening of the air defense system.

The president noted that he informed Rutte about the strikes by Russian terrorists in his evening address.

We discussed our defense cooperation, our new aviation coalition, the coalition of modern fighter jets that we are creating. And we will create it! Of course, we also discussed strengthening our air defense, Zelenskyy said.

He thanked Rutte for her willingness to continue to help protect people.

The Netherlands is among the leaders in aid for protection against terror, for bringing terrorists to justice, the head of state said.

Prime Minister Rutte said on May 26 that his government has not yet made a decision on providing Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets but is seriously considering such an option.

Earlier, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that the Netherlands may send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine after the pilots have completed training.

The Netherlands allocates €260 million for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine.

The Netherlands has already provided Ukraine with 1.6 billion euros in military aid.
