Engineers from the 67th separate mechanized brigade created a new attack drone called "Khrushch", which can be used for operations on the front line and in the rear.

Focus reports this.

What is the problem?

Since the commencement of the fullscale war, the Ukrainian army has utilized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in various units, including Ukraine's armed forces, Special Operations Forces, and the National Guard.

Nonetheless, UAVs are in continual scarcity, as they may be frequently targeted and destroyed by adversaries.

What is the solution?

Inventors from the 67th separate mechanized brigade created the attack drone named "Khrushch." Military engineers posted their projects on the Brave Inventors platform.

How does it work?

"Khrushch" is a complex consisting of a control panel, a carrier drone, and a kamikaze drone.

Depending on the purpose, you can choose the type of charge for the kamikaze drone: an 82-mm high-explosive fragmentation mine, a PG-7VL cumulative charge, or a TBH-7V thermobaric charge.

The principle of operation of the drone

As developers say, the carrier drone delivers the kamikaze drone as close as possible to the target, then the kamikaze drone detaches and destroys the target. The operator can return the carrier drone to the base thanks to the repeater and two directional antennas.

However, a hand-launched barrage munition can reach targets independently – without a carrier drone.

Launching it from a carrier drone will save kamikaze battery life, while a handheld launch will drain the battery faster because the device will need to use it to gain altitude.

Also, the "carrier" will allow the operator to adjust the flight if communication with the kamikaze drone is interrupted.

Engineers tried to make Khrushch drones as light as possible, so they are made of foam plastic, plywood, special film, and PVC pipes. Models are constantly tested and improved.

Among the advantages of the UAV, the developer names:

  • protection against false alarms and trouble-free operation even in conditions of powerful electronic warfare;
  • wear-resistant micromotor with a metal gearbox (torque 2 kg/cm);
  • charging connector: Type-C (5V, 2A);
  • charging time: 15 min;
  • more than 200 activations until full discharge;
  • standby mode for more than 30 days;
  • simple installation and rigid fixation of ammunition;
  • reliable and easy attachment to the drone, thanks to high-quality nylon Velcro.

The inventors are currently searching for investments totaled at UAH 400,000 for the advancement of this project. You can optionally back the project by visiting the Brave Inventors website.

Moreover, engineers from Dnipro have created a Patriot thermal imager with a night vision function.
