Ukraine’s national post issued charity stamp to support children who lost parents due to war

Ukrposhta announced a pre-order for a charity postal block, which includes new postage stamps, a postcard, and an envelope to support children who lost their parents during Russia's war.

This is announced on the occasion of Children's Protection Day, which is celebrated in our country on June 1.

What is the problem?

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 1,462 children have been injured, and 980 minors have been injured of various degrees of severity.

According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, the official number of killed children is 483.

Ukraine reported on March 28 that more than 19,000 children are currently considered illegally deported to Russia.

Many children lost their parents during Russia's missile attacks and assaults.

What is the solution?

The charity stamp entitled "Children of Victory Paint the Ukraine of the Future" carries a great message: the future of Ukraine will be only yellow and blue.

"Each sketch conveys the voice of small artists who, through their works, broadcast faith in the future and even seem to say that we, adults, need even more optimism," the CEO of Ukrposhta wrote.

How does it work?

The stamp will be available for purchase at all branches from June 1. One can buy it in the Ukrposhta online store and on the eBay and Amazon marketplaces.

The release is charitable. The funds will go to support those children who have lost their parents.

The charity stamp is timed to Children's Day and is dedicated to the kids who were at the epicenter of the brutal war unleashed by Russia.

In April 2023, Ukrposhta announced a national competition of children's sketches which received more than 300 creative works.

According to the results of the vote, in which 468,809 respondents took part, the work "The most cherished dream" of Oleksandra Fedorchuk (14 years old, Kyiv region) won.

At the numerous requests of the voting participants, Ukrposhta added the drawings that made it to the final:

• Oleksandra Bushynska (13 years old, Odesa region),
• Anastasia Mysko (12 years old, Khmelnytskyi region),
• Varvara Kolesova (9 years old, Mykolaiv region),
• Heorhii Sosnytskyi (6 years old, Kharkiv),
• Diana Vasylenko (4 years old, Poltava).
