Russia launches missile and drone strikes at Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region by night

Russian forces launched a night attack on Ukraine's central Dnipropetrovsk region and its administrative center, Dnipro. 

Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, reported in a statement on the Telegram messaging app that one private home, two private enterprises, and a gas station were damaged by Russian fire, injuring a gas station employee. A transport company suffered severe damage. 

According to the regional governor, air defense forces shot down five cruise missiles and six Shahed kamikaze drones over the Dnipropetrovsk region.

"It was a tough night," Lysak said. "It was loud: the enemy massively attacked the region with rockets and drones and reached Dnipro."

The head of the region reported that a fire broke out in a private house and two private enterprises. Rescuers extinguished the fire. The strikes damaged two homes, a car, and a gas station. The station's employee was injured and was given medical assistance. 

"The transport company also suffered serious damage. Examination of the territories is ongoing. The information is being clarified," he added.

According to the head of the region, the Russian forces also fired at the Marhanets community from UAVs, but there were no casualties.

On the night of May 26, an air aid alert was announced across Ukraine, and air defense was activated.
