The boat is one of those being built for the Ukrainian Navy since 2016. It was laid before Russia's full-scale war. However, its construction and state tests were completed during active hostilities in the Kyiv region.

Bucha is a small armored artillery boat that will patrol near coastal sea areas, in rivers and estuaries, as well as protect important objects of sea and river infrastructure and the coastal zone of Ukraine.

The official ceremony was attended by Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhny, Chief of Ukraine's General Staff, Lieutenant General Serhiy Shaptala, Deputy Defense Minister Volodymyr Havrylov, and Navy personnel.

There have been no Navy forces and means on the Dnipro River since the beginning of the full-scale war, the military noted.

At first, one division was created, and later another one at the request of Zaluzhny and other commanders, but in a different area in the south of the Dnipro River.

Almost a year ago, Ukraine established a management body for all boats and ships on the Dnipro River.

The boat has modern navigation and radar equipment and weapons for defeating enemy targets. One of the features of this boat is its low visual optical-electronic, radar, and thermal visibility.

It is inconspicuous for radar and infrared devices. The boat includes a system of protection against enemy weapons, as well as a system of automatic installation of smoke and heat curtains.
