Lithuania to send drones and ammunition within new military aid package to Ukraine
The Lithuanian government has announced a new package of military aid for Ukraine's forces, which will include supplies of drones and ammunition.
Lithuania's military aid to Ukraine will soon reach 465 million euros, says the state's defense minister Arvydas Anušauskas during the Ramstein-12 summit.
Our support for Ukraine is an investment in our own stability, deterrence and defense. Only the victory of Ukraine will help restore peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic space, the Lithuanian minister said.
Anušauskas also emphasized that Lithuania will consistently support Ukraine to victory.
He added that the new package of combat support to Ukraine from Lithuania includes drones, ammunition, dry food rations, and other necessities.
The minister also emphasized the importance of training Ukrainian troops. He noted that Lithuania has significantly increased the volume of training and the number of instructors assigned to it.
Lithuania's military aid this year includes:
- transfer of military equipment and machinery,
- treatment and rehabilitation of military personnel,
- contributions to international funds.
What do we know of the 12th Ramstein Summit?
During the 12th meeting, Ramstein, the participants discuss the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, as well as the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
The defense ministers of allied countries will focus on how to help Ukrainians to protect the sky even better.
The US and the rest of the members pledged to provide Ukraine with military aid in the total amount of $65 billion. The allied countries also agreed that the Netherlands and Denmark would lead a European coalition to conduct training for Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.
