The Russian occupying forces use the premises of power plants No. 1, 2, and 4 of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant as a logistical and military base.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine informs about this.

According to the intelligence, the personnel of the Russian troops, armored vehicles, and trucks are permanently stationed at the said sites. The number of vehicles and military personnel is constantly changing.

A maximum of 20 pieces of equipment can be located in the vicinity of each power unit in one day, with rotation taking place discreetly within the curfew hours of 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

"All the trucks are tightly sealed. There is information that they may contain ammunition and explosives," the Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized.

According to intelligence data, employees of regular shifts, who are supposed to inspect power units at least 1-2 times a week, are not allowed to enter the controlled territory.

Those who tried to conduct checkpoints were beaten and tortured. Several victims are in hospital with severe health conditions.

For reference:

It should be noted that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been under the control of Russian troops since the beginning of March 2022.

On March 12, it became known that the Russian company Rosatom controlled the facility. However, the station continues to be operated by Ukrainian personnel under Russian control.

As Rubryka wrote, at the beginning of the month, the Russian military placed military equipment and explosives in the premises of the turbine section of the fourth power unit of the ZNPP.

In addition, the Russians recently announced the evacuation of Enerhodar, a city where the ZNPP is located. About ten half-empty buses with residents of Enerhodar and other occupied settlements have already been taken out of the city.

It should be noted that as a result of the shelling of the Russian Federation on the night of May 22 at 5:26 a.m., the last 750kV high-voltage transmission line of Dniprovsk, from which power was supplied to the temporarily occupied ZNPP, was disconnected.

IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi is preparing a new plan for the safety of the ZNPP.
