Ukrainian army makes gains in Donetsk region, advancing 400 meters near Bakhmut
In the Donetsk region, Ukrainian defenders continue to push out the Russian occupiers near Bakhmut. They managed to advance 200-400 meters in a day.
The speaker of the Eastern group of troops of Ukraine's armed forces, Serhiy Cherevaty, reported that on the telethon air.
According to him, the Russians continue their attempts to fully occupy Bakhmut, as this is their priority goal. Currently, the enemy wants to seize the place where the Ukrainian units are defending – the southwestern part of the city.
"At the same time, on the flanks, our units are trying to pressure the enemy and, if possible, counterattack him as part of our defensive operation. In particular, during this day, we managed to advance 200 to 400 meters in various areas," Cherevaty said.
For reference:
It is worth noting that a few days ago, the Russian occupiers began to declare the complete occupation of Bakhmut. Official representatives of Ukraine denied such allegations and indicated that our defenders continue to defend a part of the city.
At the same time, in May, the soldiers of the Ukrainian army began a successful advance near Bakhmut. They were able to liberate some positions from Russian invaders and continue their gradual advancement.
It should be noted that, according to British intelligence, in the last four days, the Russian Federation transferred several battalions of occupiers to strengthen the Bakhmut front. Such steps of the Russian Federation may indicate an attempt to declare at least some success at the front.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine explained that the transfer of reserves by the enemy to Bakhmut indicates the failure of their offensive actions.
It is worth noting that the fighters of the 3rd separate assault brigade reported that they managed to advance another 700 meters deep into the outskirts of Bakhmut.
