NATO Parliamentary Assembly condemns Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine as acts of genocide

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly has unanimously recognized Russia's crimes against Ukraine as genocide and the terrorist regime in Russia as ruscism.

Yehor Cherniev, Head of the Ukraine delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, reported on Facebook that during the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's session in Luxembourg, a unanimous agreement was reached amongst parliamentarians from NATO countries to endorse the establishment of an international tribunal and to extend assistance to Ukraine throughout and after the war until the victory.

According to Cherniev, this document formally recognizes Russia's acts against Ukraine as amounting to genocide, unequivocally denounces ruscism, and clearly endorses the recovery of Ukraine's territorial integrity, the imposition of sanctions, reparative measures, and the implementation of a comprehensive "Marshall Plan" to boost Ukraine's economy.

"We adopted an extremely strong declaration at the assembly session in Luxembourg that will have far-reaching political consequences," Cherniev stated.

Furthermore, the Assembly requested that member countries' governments declare Ukraine's intent to join NATO at the summit in Vilnius and identify concrete measures for Ukraine's admission to the Alliance.

"This is our diplomatic victory. All our key requests regarding the final text of the declaration have been taken into account," Cherniev adds.

The MP emphasizes that thanks to this decision, "the foundation for the NATO summit in Vilnius has been laid." He added, "Parliamentarians of the Alliance countries have expressed their position. Now it's up to the governments."

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists that Ukraine will not agree to any alternative proposals that could replace its NATO membership.

Ukraine will not accept any other decision at the NATO summit in Vilnius in July except for real steps towards its membership in the Alliance, stated Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

It should be noted that the leaders of Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Ukraine, Finland and Sweden issued a joint statement at the end of the summit in Helsinki, where they supported Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

In addition, Ukraine signed a joint declaration with Belgium and the Netherlands, which pledged to strengthen the military capabilities of our country and support Kyiv on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration.
