Rubryka trains the next generation of young Ukrainian political scientists in Kyiv
Kyiv's high school students recently took part in the School of Young Political Scientists educational initiative.
From May 10 to 19, political science experts held six lectures online and offline for 125 schoolchildren, Rubryka reports.
The school was organized by Rubryka Solutions Media, Kyiv City's Communication Center, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University's Department of Political Science, and the Center for Creativity of Children and Youth of Kyiv region.
The school aims to foster civic education and political culture among youth. At the lectures, the children learned about the opportunities available to citizens in Ukraine, how to utilize tools of direct democracy, and the basics of media literacy.
The school has held so far three online classes and three offline lectures. The speakers were Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University professors:
- Assistant Professor Yaroslav Teleshun and Associate Professor Inna Tukalenko,
- Rubryka Communications Director Anastasia Kurylenko,
- Political analyst Valentyn Hladkykh.
Children from Kyiv and the Kyiv region participated in the pilot series of lectures at the School of Young Political Scientist.
The initiative's creators drew inspiration from innovative distance learning resources to develop an alternative civic education platform. Their goal is to educate and develop informed citizens who can contribute to the continued growth and rebuilding of Ukraine.
