Norway to transfer eight M-270 MLRS and three Arthur counter-battery radars to Ukraine

Norway announced additional military aid to Ukraine, including its participation in the military training program for Ukrainian forces in Great Britain.

Defense minister Bjørn Arild Gram said this during a press conference with the UK defense minister Ben Wallace.

The country provides military aid to Ukraine through a special fund established by Great Britain. And also within the framework of the Interflex operation for the training of the Ukrainian military.

Norway is a substantial contributor to the Fund and we also contribute to the training of Ukrainian soldiers, both here in the United Kingdom and in Norway. From the summer, Norway will double our number of instructors in Operation Interflex, he announced.

Gram also said that Norway would give Ukraine additional long-range artillery systems and radars.

Norway is providing three Arthur artillery location radars and up to eight long-range rocket artillery [systems], MLRS type. These donations are made in close collaboration with the United Kingdom, he said.

Britain confirmed that Ukraine is already using Storm Shadow long-range missiles, which London handed over to Kyiv.

Like the US-made HIMARS systems, M-270 multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) can strike targets up to 80 kilometers away. Ukraine received several shipments of MLRS from the UK last year.
