US prepares new military aid package to Ukraine worth $60 bln
In September, the USA plans to announce an aid package for Ukraine for 2024, says former US ambassador to NATO Kurt Volker.
In the fall, we will introduce another aid package that will support Ukraine throughout 2024. Now we are discussing this package worth $60 billion. The package is planned to be agreed before the presidential elections in the USA, Volker said.
He added the US has enough funds to support the counteroffensive of Ukraine's forces, which should start at the beginning of summer and last until autumn.
Earlier, Volker noted the funds that will be used for the reconstruction of Ukraine should go to a specially created investment fund. It is necessary to create a special executive body that will regulate the process of recovery of Ukraine, he said.
According to experts, the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine should be completed by June 2026.
