The VeteranHub public space and the SoftServe tech company are launching a free IT course for Ukrainian veterans and their family members.

Rubryka reports, referring to the website of the space.

What is the problem?

After getting a severe injury or wounding on the front line, Ukrainian defenders receive veterans' status and try to return to everyday life. Usually, it is difficult for them to adapt to return their life from combat conditions to a peaceful one, especially for those who acquired disabilities in the war.

What is the solution?

After returning from the front and ending service in the army, Ukrainian defenders should be supported and live like other citizens, even amid Russia's full-scale war. They also should have the opportunity to get a profession and work.

That is why the public space VeteranHub and the SoftServe company are launching a free IT course for Ukrainian veterans. The course is designed to provide knowledge and motivation for further study. It is built on the years of experience of SoftServe Academy and allows access to additional learning resources, a community of like-minded people, and support from mentors.

How does it work?

Enrollment for the EmpowerU course started on May 16. Registration for the course is via the link.

"EmpowerU. The basic course of testing and fundamentals of IT" is designed for those just starting their journey in IT, regardless of knowledge or programming experience.

Participants of the course:

  • will be able to distinguish types of software testing;
  • will understand the architecture of modern programs, databases, and data encryption and work with virtualization;
  • learn how to create SQL queries;
  • learn the communication skills needed for a successful career in IT.
  • Training will start on May 29 in an online format and will last for two months.

The group plans to take on up to 30 people. To pass the course, the veteran should speak English at a level no lower than pre-intermediate.

The training course is implemented within Softserve's global initiative — EmpowerU. The main goal of the EmpowerU initiative is to provide equal opportunities for everyone who wants to study and dream of a career in IT.
